SA Heart patients have access to all private and public hospital treatment options

Published: 2 Jul 2009

All SA Heart patients have the peace of mind of knowing that they can be treated in a suitable private or public hospital when the need arises.  This is possible because the SA Heart team of 18 cardiologists has admitting rights at all private and public hospitals with high level cardiac treatment facilities.

Patients with private hospital cover can be admitted at the Ashford Hospital, Flinders Private Hospital, Calvary Wakefield Hospital and St Andrews Hospital.

The SA Heart cardiologists with admitting rights at the major teaching public hospitals will seek to facilitate admission of patients who do not have private health insurance as public patients.  Subject to bed availability, this provides options at the Royal Adelaide, Queen Elizabeth and Lyell McEwin public hospitals, as well as at the Flinders Medical Centre.
